“I suppose you were right - I did try to tackle too much on my own, didn’t I? Thank you for your help!” 

This was where she felt most at home, the library, a place of books and learning. Ever since she’d been small and  found herself stationed at the Eighth Division, Nanao had always enjoyed spending the odd bits of free time here.  she could lose hours walking the alcoves of this particular building in search of things she hadn’t alreday read that might catch her interest. Over the years the  search had become more challenging; she had poured over texts she wouldn’t have given the time of day, re read the same things time and time again, not that it really mattered to her . This building gave her a sense of peace, and she’ happily reread every text in the place if it meant she could spend time here. 

She rounded a corner, winding her way through shelves warmed by sunlight and came across another, not someone she’d seen here before, surrounded by texts. She stopped, preparing to announce herself, until she saw  them rise from their seat, shoving books willy nilly back into the nearest shelf, not caring where they’d originally come from. 

Her lips thinned, eyeing this interloper with a look of annoyance and disdain. True, their misdeamour was hardly the crime of the century but it did affect the order of the place and created work for the people who worked so hard here to keep things neat and tidy.  

Scowling, she adjusted her glasses and chided,
