In a universe where Laffitte is in a relationship with Teach, how do you think he'd feel about Teach's many siblings, and how would they feel about him? (Nami's probably not too keen on him for the obvious reasons. Or anyone in Teach's crew for that matter)
And how would Rocks feel about him? Would she be skeptical/wary of him like most mothers are towards their children's significant others, or would she welcome Laffitte into the family with a backbreaking hug?
I don't know enough about Lafitte to make any sorts of AUs where he and Teach are dating X'D I'm not paying enough attention to Teach's crew - it's not like I genuinely dislike them (like I have an issue with Doffy's crew, many of their designs are just off-putting in a way I cannot explain.) I'm just not too invested (yet?)
But I can generally say that Rocks is not overprotective at all when it gets to the kids and their dating life. Maaaybe Rocks would be a bit protective with Nami because Nami's young (the only kid who's not the same age or older than Rocks at this point.)
