⸺ task one. requiem.
as the centuries have imposed their obscuring overlay on our storied pasts, these are the tokens of remembrance which we have kept dear through the prism of time. yet we linger, on a particular keepsake, a picture, a garment or ornament⸺legacies of our histories; the countries we fled. perhaps the people we were, then, are now strangers. but when we remember them, we remember, also, that which they carried into this world, in their pockets and on their backs. perhaps they are no more than figments, now, but they are souled, and they were not left behind.
requiem is grimmertales’ first task drop, and an intermission between chapters ! in keeping with the motif of remembrance and the conclusion of our first event, the fables may be spurred to recall the day of their exile from the homelands⸺what they were able to take along, what remained behind, and which keepsakes they treasure to this day.
