EVENT WRAP UP
Well, well, well, Chicago’s first Love Fest definitely went down in history. The performers and service providers were fantastic, but what people are really talking about is the fire that broke out. After a thorough investigation, the authorities have ruled the fire as a freak accident as a result of the street lamps exploding. No one’s sure why the power went so crazy. Luckily, there were only a handful of people with minor injuries as a result of all the chaos, and all the damaged businesses should open back up within the next week or two.
In the Mage world, the hunt for the perpetrator is on. Talks of a supernatural convention are spreading like wildfire through the community. They need a chance to talk about these outlandish acts and decide how to go about putting a stop to them....before it’s too late.
The event officially ends in an hour! Please wrap up your event threads by tomorrow night, and I’ll be sure to post an overview of the goings on! Non-event threads and starters may be posted at 8 PM est, and you can continue your pre-event threads if you’d like. To avoid any confusion, assume most people will drop their pre-event threads, and if you’d like to continue them, you should message the other mun to continue.
Update!
A fire has started on the River Walk and the fire department is on the way. All Love Fest attendees should evacuate in an orderly, calm manner. OOC: Your roles can leave the festival and your threads can take place outside of there, or, likely only the mage, can stick behind to try and figure out what went down!
EVENT PLOT 01
Love is in the air! Oh wait, that’s definitely not love. While everyone is going about their business, wandering around the River Walk and enjoying the complimentary entertainment, someone has been up to no good.
All along the River Walk, businesses are experiencing a great deal of chaos. Speaker systems are failing, then seemingly going up to full volume all on their own. Lights are flickering, street lamps are exploding, and even stoves are overheating. Anything and everything connected to any form of electricity has a shot of going wonky - and it doesn’t seem to be stopping.
OOC Info: Please work the plot drop into your current threads or start new ones! It may take everyone, human or mage, some time to realize that something is seriously wrong. Whether the mage who realize magic is behind the issues help or not is up to you!

TASK 03. It’s time for the Love Fest! Whether your role is going alone, with a significant other, or with a group of friends, they’re sure to have picked out an outfit. Is it practical? Impractical? Does it show off their personality? Post pictures of their clothes, give a description - whatever floats your boat! Have fun & don’t forget to tag your task with grim:task so everyone can see it!
The event has begun! Please put your non-event threads on hold for the time being, and make sure to tag your starters with both grim:event and grim:starter to make sure everyone knows they’re event specific! The Love Fest is taking place on the River Walk. Any stores, restaurants, bars, etc. you think might participate can. If you have any questions, just let me know! Feel free to assume there are different kinds of entertainment, giveaways, etc. as long as it’s fairly realistic. Of course, if you want to include the entire rp with an idea, let me know so I can post it!
Also - be mindful of the weather. It’s January in Chicago, so at the very least, everyone will likely have a coat on, even if they’ve got the best damn outfit anyone has ever seen underneath.
EVENT 01, BE MINE, MY VALENTINE
Are you ready for the most romantic day of the year? To get everyone in the spirit of celebrating love of all kinds, several riverside businesses have agreed to open up for an exclusive Love Fest! Restaurants, shops, bars, entertainment - you name it, and there’s probably a place to do it. Already have Valentine’s Day plans? No need to worry! The Love Fest is happening Saturday, February 2nd to accommodate as many Chicago dwellers as possible. Tickets are 25$ a piece or 40$ for a pair, and grant you all access to the restaurants and bars participating. There may even be live entertainment as the night goes on!
The event will take place on the dash from Thursday Jan 31 at 8 pm EST to Sunday February 3 at 8 pm EST. It will be a time stopped event, which means while threads will span a few days OOC, they will all take place IC on the 2nd. There will be plot drops throughout the event to keep everyone interacting. Be sure to use this as an opportunity to plot with everyone and interact with those you might not usually thread with! The Love Fest isn’t meant only to celebrate couples, so all roles should be able to participate!
