A rescued and orphaned Grey-headed Flying-fox (Pteropus poliocephalus) waits for a bottle to be attached to her dummy so she can have some dinner. These spectacular mammals are vitally important for native seed dispersal and gum tree pollination - some say at least as important as bees for Australian forests. They feed on over 100 species of flowering trees and fleshy-fruited trees and liana, and many rely on them for their survival. In a single night, a flying fox can travel over 40 Kms.
