#MyMusicMonday: Yesterday Afternoon (5/19/2019), I attended the memorial, “Greg Haymes: Remembering a Life Of Words, Art, and Music”, held at The Egg Performing Arts Center in Albany, NY!! The memorial service,held in memory of my friend and Nippertown founder, was beautiful, sad, and it unified the Capital Region’s creatives together to celebrate the life of a man that had showed so much compassion and dedication to his family, friends, & to the local music, arts, & theater scene. Thank you so much Greg and Sara for what you have done to enrich our local scene with Nippertown and to be our cheerleader for so many creatives to succeed in their craft to create in the Capital Region. It’s hard to believe that it’s been a week since the passing of my friend & Nippertown founder, Greg Haymes. It hasn’t been an easy week for me and so many others who are in mourning of your passing. Thank you Greg and Sara for your continued friendship, support in all of us and our accomplishments,for building community, and for keeping us informed of all of the community happenings in the Capital Region & The Berkshires for 9 years in Nippertown. Congratulations to Nippertown for your well-deserved win for best arts publication in the 2019 Eddie’s Music Awards Show held this past Sunday at Proctors Theatre. You are a true “local legend” & a great friend to us all. Thank you for what you both did in the music and arts scene.
