The Verdant Grove is a large, equatorial, humid rainforest that dominates the eastern side of Vergund with the largest concentration in the south. This biome is home to world’s tallest trees with some towering over 400ft. Since the majority of people live within the meadows, and alongside rivers/lakes, this biome is largely wilderness with a few cities and settlements scattered around in valleys or along lakefronts. It’s most famous for its large megafauna, diverse ecosystem, medicinal plants, and oil/tar pits.

The cover artwork for Pikolo magazine vol12, the magazine that I co-founded, art direct and illustrate.  This issue talks about the importance of green and renewable energy in the hope that one day nature and human-made systems can coexist in a more peaceful and mindful way. One of my aims creating content and illustrations for this magazine is to inspire and to educate the youngest inhabitants of this planet on how to love, care for and bring change through small, achievable actions.

I was leaving the baking hot parking lot of MASS MoCA yesterday and thinking “jeez! They need to plant some trees out here!” . Have you see that a new solution to city heat (which is a real problem; so much energy consumption results because of it!) is to coat the streets with white paint? Supposedly does a good job of abating the problem, not 100% but still, bring on the solutions! . . This is an illustration that I dawdled over for a few years...I thought it was going to be a story....maybe the next two pages will show a city that looks like a garden?
