I am so glad that you enjoyed Potato Salad!!! ♥ 

I have a draft of a potential sequel saved in my files. I enjoyed writing Potato Salad a lot. A lot. A lot. It was originally supposed to be a completely different story - it was meant to be Ashton’s story instead of Michael’s - so I have been toying around with how exactly to tell the story I meant to in the beginning. I’m not actively working on it at the moment… but I do plan on picking it up some time in the (possibly near) future.

I am glad that you are enjoying Forgotten Magic, too! ♥ The story is already working toward endgame lashton (which seems obvious since they’re technically already together, but I actually mean that some of the most important seeds of their reunion are already being planted). I have that entire plotline almost completely outlined (leaving room for some last minute changes just in case something new works out better than my plans), so I am eager to tell the story. [Though, at the moment, the mashton friendship sidestory is probably my favorite part…]

I don’t think I’m going to update Forgotten Magic this week, because I have very little done on it at this point. I had a project due for one of my law classes this past Sunday, so most of my free time this weekend went to that instead of fanfiction. I’m shooting for an update for this story around the first of next week, just to give me a little leeway to take my time and be careful with what has to happen in the chapter. (The story itself is building to something heartbreaking decently soon, so I don’t want to be careless and flub it all up.)

A long, long time ago, I shared this from the draft to Potato Salad. It is still pretty accurate, as I like the set up. Here is a little bit more of what I do have. This pretty much picks up where the last snippet left off.

“We should celebrate,” he says,barely pulling away from the kiss to speak. His breath is warm against Ashton’slips, and it’s all a touch disgusting if Ashton really thinks about it—Michaelhad eaten pizza for lunch—but Michael follows up with another kiss.

“Celebrate what?” asks Ashtonwhenever they part. He leans back in his seat, away from Michael, anddeliberately ignores the way Michael tries to follow him. The console preventsMichael from leaning too far into Ashton’s space. Ashton is thankful. He’s justlied to Michael, and Michael is still unwaveringly proud of him, and his skincrawls at the unfairness of it all. “I might not even get the job.”

“You will,” says Michael. His smilefalls when he spots Ashton’s frown. “You’re always too hard on yourself.”

Ashton snorts. “I think I’ve got apretty good reason to be, don’t you? I mean, I was the one who ended upstarving on the streets for two fucking years.”

Michael winces, falling back to sitproperly in his seat. Ashton feels a spike of guilt. He hates himself. He hateshimself so, so much, because Michael believes the best in him, and he keepsfucking everything up.

“I’m sorry,” he says quietly, staring at hislap. He really, really doesn’tdeserve Michael.

For Forgotten Magic, here is a preview of what I have thus far. 

“Don’t apologize,” says Michael. Hesounds a lot like Luke with the conviction in his voice, and it makes Ashtonchoke out an unexpected laugh. “You’re still recovering. Besides, if anybodyshould apologize, it should be me. You lost your memory, because you wereprotecting me.”

“It’s not your fault,” says Ashton,into the crook of Michael’s neck, right where it meets his shoulder. He pullsback after a second. He tests his weight on his own knees. Thankfully, theyhave stopped trembling enough for him to remain upright of his own accord. Hetakes a step back from Michael, creating a friendly amount of space betweenthem. “Luke said that the Slytherins were trying to steal their magic back,because they thought you took it, but you didn’t. We were good friend, you andI, weren’t we?”
