Shouldn't be hard because we are 'a mighty mighty weird and strange and probably not legal school', in the words of Dean Pelton himself (real talk so we actually can't swear he said that technically but just take our word for it, okay? Okay?? thanks)

I am super proud to announce that the first two chapters of my Riverdale x Greendale Fanfiction have been released to Wattpad. I have been working on this for a long time, after a year of writers block and pushing through chapters, I can finally exhale a sigh of relief. Any constructive criticism, comments of support or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Read Chapter One: The Ghost in the Doorway from the story Daughter of the Serpent King by meggwizzle (.✦ ݁˖ 𝔐𝔢𝔤𝔞𝔫...
Description:
Sixteen years ago, a baby swaddled in a lilac quilt was left on the doorstep of Thistlehouse with a desperate note and a moonstone pendant. Raised by the formidable duo of Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz, Lolli has grown up in the shadow of a legacy she was never allowed to touch. To the world, she is a Blossom ward; to the Southside, she is the daughter of the King...a secret kept in a velvet cage.
Jughead Jones traded his life for a throne. As the Serpent King, he stays in the trenches of a never-ending turf war, protecting his daughter by keeping her at arm's length. He is a ghost who appears only once a year, bearing birthday gifts and the scent of motorcycle exhaust, before disappearing back into the darkness of the Serpent Den.
But Lolli's eyes are the color of a dying autumn and carry a cold, sharp glint that doesn't belong in a sanctuary. Her hair is unnaturally natural, a platinum blonde that falls, perfectly framing her face... every time. She is tired of the gothic isolation of Thistlehouse and the filtered stories of her father's heroism. As the fragile truce between Riverdale's rival factions begins to fracture and a new, darker threat emerges from the shadows of the Northside, the "loop" is finally starting to break.
The King thinks he can keep the war away from his daughter? He's wrong.

ok Greendale actually holds an enormous place in my heart. Like yes obviously my dog is named after one of the tracks but there’s a reason I chose that name in the first place. Greendale was such a perfect go-to roadtrip album for me on so many adventures: the first time was on the way back from a friend’s graduate dissertation defense, then later on an escape to Canada to find part of myself I was scared I had lost, and still later on a trip to pick up trash in the wilderness after I’d just started to follow my path in conservation. Seemed like single time I heard “Bandit” I wept. I still weep. For the life I’ve worked hard to build, for the things I’ve allowed to fall away for the sake of it, for the happiness that I hope is still waiting for me to find it. Funny how, in the running order, “Bandit” is flanked on either side by songs mourning Officer Carmichael and Grandpa Green…like a glimmer of hope in the middle of the sadness. Part of me even dares to imagine “Bandit” as Neil’s motivational self-talk in an alternate universe where he never finds success but still knows his worth, and just keeps trying.
But it’s the final twist of this album that stirs up the urge for action in me: “Sun Green” always afforded me the fantasy of escaping my reality to be a goddess in the planet war, and “Be the Rain” gave me the inspiration to figure out a way to do it. I listened to those two tracks nonstop in preparing for my conservation bio comprehensive exam. Now I have a degree and a plan. Now, I dare to hope that one day, I can be a force for good in conserving our environment and protecting our earth. And so I just keep trying.
