Green Bee-eater (Merops orientalis): This colourful bird is native to Africa and Asia. It is about 18cm (9in) including elongated central tail feathers. The main food source is wasps, bees and ants which are caught by flight from a perch. Beautiful image by Alan Tamzeed taken in Bangladesh.
