For the Profile Reconstruction, Character creation 1-5 for Shepards parents? If you feel like? :)
Rose Shepard
What is the characterās full name, and how did you come up with it?
Rose Siobhan OāRiordan Shepard. I knew she was of Irish ancestry. She got her name because when I started AHOD,Ā I knew Grace Shepard was haunted by a scent. I knew the scent was reminiscent of her mother. My own love of fairy tales, and the sort of fairy-tale-feeling of Graceās visions/dreams/memories, made roses a natural choice. All of a sudden, I had this scene fully-fleshed in my head of Graceās father twirling his red-headed wife around their living room, singing āMy Wild Irish Roseā, and I knew it was because her name was Rose.
What inspired you to create this character?
Well, the short answer is that once I decided to actually include bits and pieces from Graceās childhood, I needed to actually flesh out her parents a bit more. Then I ended up giving Rose a bit of the Earthborn background, because why not? I like to borrow bits and pieces of lore like that.
What species are they, and what do they look like? (Use anything you like - descriptions, art, outfits, face claims, etc)
Human, from Earth. I think she looks a bit like Jane Levy, I think, though with green-grey eyes. Sheās very pretty, but tougher than she looks. Sheās got a scar down her back covered over with a rose-garden tattoo her husband did for her before he was her husband. She loves gardening; I think she wears sturdy clothing most of the time, but also loves beautiful dresses and color. Her wedding dress was yellow.
Tell us a little about the world-state that they inhabit. (For example, are they active before, during, and/or after the events of the Mass Effect trilogy? Are they part of an AU?)
She died on Mindoir, so sheās only part of Graceās very early life. Still, Grace thinks of her, so her effect is felt long after her death.
Share a quote, image, or song that reminds you of the character.
The aforementioned Wild Irish Rose. Sadly, though, itās this quote that always makes me think of her:
If you listen Iāll sing you a sweet little song
Of a flower thatās now droped and dead,
Yet dearer to me, yes than all of its mates,
Though each holds aloft its proud head.Ā
Gray Shepard
