Relationship Tings (Gray x Reader)
You knew you were in trouble when you walked into Gray’s studio, and the interviews from earlier that day, were playing on his laptop.
‘It’s an amazing opportunity to work with someone like Y/N. I’m glad that we’ve decided to collaborate for the new fashion line,’ Mino stated honestly.
A reporter asked, ‘Would you say that Y/N is your ideal type? You two seem close.’
Mino laughed on the screen, his hand scratching the back of his neck as he answered, ‘I think Y/N is everyone’s type. She’s a really great person. I’m excited to be working with her on such a big project.’
‘Are you hoping to get to know her better through this work?’ the interviewer prompts playfully.
‘Who knows?’ Mino chuckles, ‘We’ll just have to see how it goes.’
You knew yourself that Mino meant no harm – it’s not like he could outright deny any of the interviewer’s questions. It would only lead to articles stating there was ‘disharmony’ between the two of you, and if he confirmed the speculation, the articles would be even worse. Keeping it vague was the best thing Mino could do in the situation.
'Who knows?’ Gray growled sarcastically, not hearing you enter, ‘I know! My baby would curve you like a fucking corner!’ he trailed off with a string of swear words as he replayed the interview at the part where Mino called you ‘everyone’s type’.
‘Look at this piece of trash,’ Gray scoffed whilst you let out a small laugh. Gray jumped in surprise and turned to look at you, ‘You surprised me.’
‘Sorry. You’re just so cute when you work yourself up,’ you tell him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and placing your head next to his as you watched Mino on screen.
‘He’s so cocky!’ Gray whines as his free hand moves up to cover your own interlinked ones.
‘He’s actually very lovely. Are you worried he’ll steal me away?’ you ask, your lips pressed against the corner of his mouth, your question coming out as a mumble.
‘Ha! He could try! We’re as solid as ice!’ Gray boasted, pecking your lips quickly.
‘Ice melts, baby,’ you tell him with a snort.
‘Do you want to die?’ Gray asked with his eyebrow raised, his eyes set on your face and full of seriousness.
‘Only after we’ve gotten married, had a million kids, and are in our nineties,’ you respond cutely, causing him to let out a laugh.
The interview continued,
‘When will you be flying out to Paris?’
‘Ah…That’s still be decided. The decision to go abroad was only recently made, so we are still figuring out the logistics of it all, as I have to fit it into my schedule with Winner, as well.’
Gray tensed and turned to look at you accusingly.
‘Yah. Are you going to Paris?’
You looked at him guiltily. It had been a last-minute decision for you; a once in a lifetime opportunity really, but you had been invited by one of the biggest brands in fashion to take a tour with their group and to gain insight to new trends and lines for your own brand, and had immediately said yes.
‘I came here as soon as I could to tell you,’ you admit.
Gray swung his chair around so that you were facing one another, his hands reaching out to clasp both of yours as he looked up, his eyebrows furrowed, ‘Go on.’
‘I got a call from Chanel this morning,’ you tell him quietly, ‘They invited me over to tour throughout Paris to their design shops and private show rooms. It was so good an opportunity that I couldn-‘
‘I’m so proud of you.’ Gray told you, his hands squeezing yours, cutting off your explanation. You blinked down at him, surprised.
‘You’re not mad?’
‘Baby, this is a good thing. It’s your career we’re talking about here!’ Gray told you, moving so that his arms wrapped around your waist instead. ‘When do you fly out? How long will you be in Paris for?’
‘They want me there for three weeks. I haven’t sorted everything out, but I know it’s at least that long.’
‘And when do you go?’ Gray asked, his chin resting against your stomach as he looked up.
‘Two weeks.’
‘Is Mino going?’
You nodded, causing Gray’s arms to drop and his head to throw back in annoyance, ‘Why does that little shit have to go? I’m so annoyed.’
You couldn’t help but smile. He didn’t care about the distance or time you would be apart for. No, in fact he was happy you were advancing with your work. His only dislike was poor Mino, who had no clue that your man did not like him at all.
Distracting Gray from his rant, you bent down and kissed him quickly, ‘Thank you for supporting me with this. I thought you’d be more upset that I hadn’t called you ahead of time.’
Pulling you so that you sat on his left leg, he held your face gently, ‘Yah. How many times have you supported me? Waited up at night to congratulate me on finishing a track? Consoled me when I hit a brick wall? Numerously. So many times, that I’ve lost count.’
Blinking away the tears that had built up in your eyes, you pulled his face to your chest and hugged him whilst he chuckled.
After a moment or two, Gray asked, ‘Can I come and visit you in Paris?’
‘Mm,’ you agree, playing with his hair absentmindedly.
‘Can we go on dates in Paris?’
‘Mm.’
‘Should I take you on the Eiffel tower?’
‘Mhm.’
‘Should I propose to you on the Eiffel tower?’ he teases.
‘That’s too cliché,’ you tell him honestly.
‘True. I’ll keep thinking of ideas,’ Gray responds with a smile, before puckering his lips for a kiss that you happily gave him.
