We asked Courtney to put together a vintage look from the early 1900s and this is what she came up with - the early 1900s have never looked so hot! (10236)
“gray lace” (10.6k words)
“Do you think I can use that stationary we bought to write up apology notes?” Trixie snorted, fingers fiddling with the tulle of her skirt, once white and now a very distinct shade of mud brown.
“You don’t have to fucking apologize to--”
“Don’t you think?” Trixie cut off what she was sure was about to be a lengthy rant from Katya. “I left a guy at the altar, Kat. I have plenty to be fucking sorry for.”

Trixie Mattel is a runaway bride and it won't stop fucking raining.
I have told @ourforgottenboleros that her writing is so good and touches my heart very deeply. Five Foot Three made me cry so much, love her Trixie to the point of worrying for her while in the shower. That made me want to start to write these reviews. Do you know she has a m/m story and another another oneshot?
1)When living start to feel like dying
Trixie and Katya as men and drag queens. Not AU. Just my biggest fear as a woman, to my all LGBT friends out there: getting attacked in the streets. Trixie gets picked on the streets after a gig and he calls Katya for help in the hospital.
People dont understand how hard is to get over, forget those scary and dangerous meetings with violent individuals. And we got a PTSD Brian/Trixie trying to get his life back after being beaten. Brian/Katya is there, being the strong one, taking the real world.
Its so real. You could see that most of reactions from the fans, twitter, internet, would be really like that. We are not allowed time to heal.
Its a sensible and caring story. Makes you think how much pressure you and all the other fans are doing to your idol/person you like the work.
I think its the only not AU that I really loved reading, that I spend a few hours reading and suffering when i was still new to all the wonderful lesbian au I have read on AO3. Must read.
2) Gray lace
NEW STORY.
When I was younger I watched "Runaway Bride" (1999) with my mother. At that time I didnt understood why the woman run away from all her weddings.
Here Trixie runs away from her wedding too. Just like Maggie (Julia Roberts), Trixie also doesnt know herself, she is lying to her, to the world. Even if marriage was a big dream to Trixie, she has the perfect guy, she runs. She learns faster than Maggie (thank god) about her motives to run. Maggie didnt even know how she liked her eggs! Trixie was just lying about not loving her best friend Katya.
We get full slapped with feelings here. Love, sadness, how scared and confused, how your mind wants to be smarter than your heart, how a need to be "normal" makes you fake love for another person, when your heart and body wishes for the other. Trixie here gets a big understanding if her life and feelings after running away and being safe with Katya. They are adults, they talk, they say the real things to be said, they call and make emends, they dont heal right away but slowly like our life.
Like our life touches really deep. You should all read and be touched by words.

~ lace dividers ~
'"What about pink?” Katya grinned as she caught Trixie’s eye across the clothing rack. Trixie smiled softly and a faint blush passed across her cheeks. “Bring me everything pink you can get your hands on,” Trixie said.' Gray lace is one of my all time faves I want to hear you ramble about it forever!! 💛
<3 <3 <3 oh my gosh thank you for asking more about gray lace ily
one of my favorite things about writing this one was how messy both of them were honestly. they both made so many mistakes and really had to come to terms with the fact that they’d fucked up before they could ever move on.
this scene in particular was an interesting one bc it’s (if i’m remembering correctly?) the first time that we see katya doing things like blatantly calling trixie a femme and acknowledging that something is up between them. and then, immediately following all that tension, she manages to remind trixie exactly why she loves her with an easy quip about a pink wedding dress that trixie had dreamed of as a kid.
katya is being manipulative here even though she isn’t trying to be and maybe even has good intentions, but no matter how too far some of it is for trixie, she really doesn’t care bc her best friend showed up right when she needed her to. they’re both trying to deal with their insecurities and knock heads a lot along the way and that dynamic was so new and interesting to try writing
(thank you for letting me ramble)
