More about gray county!(opening the can of worms)
Ok this post is gonna be a lil longer than the last ones, because this is like 70% of the worldbuilding
Gray county was a town kinda like Roswell, NM and Point Pleasant, WV. The town was oriented on their local cryptid, the gray wraith. She was rumored to be the vengeful spirit of a victim of the witch trials, and due to the intrigue and various alleged sightings became the mascot of the town (and severely overmerchandized ._.)
The state gray county was in was named Curare, and in the 1960s, they began to go all in on nuclear power plants with little care to double check the safety. Around the time of the Y2K bug, several plants never went through preparing their systems and this chain reacted into the entire state becoming unlivable. Tl;dr Nothing past the year 2000 is available.
