Pink Elephant's Gravecast 012
The Pink Elephantâs Graveyard cannot be denied. Located in the far reaches of that nebulous body known as the interweb, K has been stashing valuable artifacts there for your retrieval. What is K? A fair question to which we can only point upward, to the upper echelons of the etherworld where relevant K artifacts are stored and displayed.
Taking a break from cataloging the many facets of K-istic creative expression by those who matter to us most we have decided to use an entire episode of the Pink Elephantâs Gravecast to explore recent acquisitions of phonograph records and cassette tapes. This batch includes 45 EPs from Singapore recently discovered by Kelly Norman of the Maxines; new recordings acquired while touring in Spain (see above album by Aries from La Castanya records) and the most recent releases by the Washington, D.C. combos Chain & the Gang and Priests.
The Pink Elephantâs Gravecast is also available from Stitcher and iTunes.
Magpie Mystery EP from Singapore. On this episode we played the first song on the first side.
Choh Ying with Maurice Patton and the Melodians 7âł EP from Singapore. On this episode we played the second song on the second side.
The Maxinesâ volume in our International Pop Underground series, Drugstore [IPU140]. We played the song âHang Aroundâ.
Priestsâ 12âł EP Bodies and Control and Money and Power released on their own Sister Polygon label.
