7. Talk about your biggest insecurity.

There are insecurities and fears, and they’re similar, so I’ll talk about a few of each

I store my fat in my stomach, which either (a) is a thing that’s started happening recently or (b) is a sign that my eating habits have deteriorated in college.  I also bloat really easily, which doesn’t make things better.

I’M AFRAID OF FAILURE.

I worry about not recognizing people that I’ve met before, or not remembering the names of people I’ve met before.  I worry about this a lot in conjunction with parties, even though I don’t drink nearly enough that alcohol would cause that problem.

14. Talk about a vacation.

Last summer I went to Japan with my mom!  This summer I’m going to San Diego for AUSKF nationals!  This summer I’m also going to visit family in Hawaii!

I travel pretty frequently and it’s really fun and exciting 

21. Talk about a time you had to turn someone down.

OKAY.  

One fine summer evening after kendo practice, I was hanging out with my fellow teenagers while our parents and sensei ate potato chips and drank Japanese beer.  This is pretty much the norm.  Other people left, and it wound up being just me and This One Dude sitting and talking about video games an anime and stuff.  We’ve been going to the same dojo for years, but we never interacted all that much, mostly because he’s a year ahead of me. 

As we were walking to the parking lot, he asked me for my number, because apparently I’m cool and he wanted to hang out.  I thought this was alright because I’m pretty cool and I’m okay to hang out with sometimes.  

We texted on and off for a couple weeks, and wound up hanging out one time outside of practice.  It was a fairly awkward experience, but I did get some stories out of it, like The Shittiest Parking Story I Have Been Part Of and Playing the Saxophone in Middle School Does Not Make Me That Cool.  We wound up at a park that I like by my house, and we spent a while leaning against a tree and talking about various things.

He confessed to me in Japanese.  I’m Japanese, he’s part Japanese, but neither of us is fluent.  There was no really good reason to do that.  It was so uncomfortable

I get really stressed out before my tournaments.  At two of the three kendo tournaments I’ve competed in, I’ve gotten massive stress/nervousness stomachaches.  (Not really desirable in a sport in which getting dressed takes upwards of 3 minutes if you’re fast.)  I used to be afraid of going to practice, too.  I’m working on it, but since we’re talking about wishes, I wish I could just get rid of that nervousness.
