The Forehead KissÂ
         âGo ahead. Open it, dolly.â
Another year, another birthday. As a child, Ultear had been given so very little on the day which was supposed to be a cause of celebration for most children. It had not been till the woman had turned twenty-one, when her success had finally begun to pick up and her name was known, that she had allowed herself to truly celebrate her birth. To Ultear, a birthday was something to be rewarded for when one had begun to accomplish their goals in life, not before.
And these six years since, Ultear had thrown such extravagant parties that they were talked about for weeks. Nothing was exempted when it came to her birthday, for Ultear firmly believed she deserved it all. And while beneath her a party of unbelievable wonders and music and wine carried on, Ultear found herself sitting on her balcony with her baby brother.
â âReally, I donât see why you can not simply join one of my parties for once, Oncie, especially on my own birthday-â
        âJust open the present.â
Ultear, whose irritation was only short lived due to the grin that donned the Once-lerâs features, she pulled the green satin bow that kept gift shut. If only she had a stronger will where the Once-ler was concerned that Ul might have been able to hold her ground, but as she came face to face with a beautiful siamese kitten, brilliant blue orbs staring innocently up at her, and Ultear was already in love.
Ultear made a sound that, in her opinion, was not as attractive as she would have liked it to have been as she picked up the tiny creature, pressing it to her form and letting her fingers gently run through soft, plush fur. Long had the loud party beneath them been ignored as she placed the kitten down, leaning over her garden table to place her lips atop the Once-lerâs forehead. She beamed at him as she let her fingers part his ebony locks, and in the moment she knew one thing.
â âOh, I love her, darling, I really, really do. She is perfect. You are perfect. Thank you.â
She knew she could ask for no one better to call her brother then him.
