if you can change one past event in your life, what would it be
★ - it’s as if the question has become sentient -- personified, human-like. it has disquieting hands, too calm for his liking. and it’s as if the question presses play on some remote control, turning on the memory. it sparks the dark plate of his mind, white, like turning on a tv in a room with all the lights off. it’s a re-run: grainy, grey security footage. yes, of course there’s blood -- and just because he didn’t see it the way blood usually looks, doesn’t mean it wasn’t there.
he takes control, and shuts off the memory. --- do you think i could have done something about it ?
