sometimes, when vampire's sleeping, alchemist will come sit beside him and just stare at him.

she'll study the curves of his cheeks, the shape of his nose, the way his lips part, all like she's memorizing formulas for science.

vampire's never caught her in the act, but sometimes when he wakes up, she'll be sitting nearby and will get really defensive when he asks what she's been up to while he's been asleep.
