Throwback Tuesday! It's an opportunity knowing and having a relationship with my Grandparents. This picture was taken 10 years ago but it's really a 14 year journey. I have always loved reading, my Grandpa was one of those aided my love for reading as he was an avid reader. This is exemplified through his volumes of texts amongst others. I loved reading Biographies and Autobiographies and I saw that many of those who had written them usually had a Masters Degree or a Doctorate Degree. I was spurred to attempt writing one and herein before me is someone who I believed had a great story. In 2006, I went to him to discuss the idea. He agreed to it and the journey commenced. I was almost always in his house, he told me his stories, I combed his library to locate various documents that filled in the gaps and also led to more stories. I got support from various people while working on it- some helped to collect contributions from different places across the country namely Jide Akinsola, Tobi Ewekeye @davitoe amongst others. Uncle @agetuamorgan gave me his laptop; Dr (now Prof) Peter Amosun gave me the opportunity to use his office in UI etc. My National Service Year in Borno State was dedicated to writing it intensely, I sent the first draft to him through @Aramide Adebisi to Lagos and it was sent to him in Oyo. The work continued till 2010 when it was finally launched. These images were taken at the launch in the year 2010 in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. After the launch, he once told me that I have shielded him from granting some interviews about his life. All he said was, "have a copy of the book, it contained virtually everything about me." The summary of it all was that I am blessed to have a Grandpa that gave himself to be experimented with, I had the privilege to study him and I made him proud in his lifetime.
