At this point, Lass is at a crossroads that he’s terrified to be at, even if he’d rather not admit it. On one hand, he’s intimately aware of the repercussions of not believing the oracle. They all are, after the incident at the Tower of Disappearance. However, every alarm in his head is going off at the thought of walking straight into an ambush, especially one they’re not prepared for when it’s just the two of them. It would be best just to skirt around them to regroup with the others, even if it took another week.

『 If you want to get snapped right back up like you were in Mouspia, be my guest, but don’t drag me into this. 』

Of course they’re not. But then again, Lass is neither a kid nor a hero, and so he likes to believe that the we in question doesn’t involve him.

Not when he’s caused about half the trouble that they’ve had to fix.

『 Bold of you to assume that ‘hero’ is what I’m aiming for, Plie. 』

He’s not like Elesis, or Ronan, or even Amy herself. He’s not there out of the goodness of his heart, or a sense of justice and morality. He made a mistake, and he’s just a kid put in self-observed time-out, reflecting on his errors and then cleaning up his own spilled milk, if the milk were capable of murdering everybody he reluctantly admits to caring about.

   Still, he did not like the idea of needing to keep a facade like he was suggested and currently doing: acting all cute and oblivious for popularity when he wanted nothing than to strangle those who did not know about personal space.

   He did, however, have an interest in making connections that would benefit him—now the case with one of the most popular girls in school, a pinkenette that had a big fanbase as she had girls who disliked her.

   “You might be pretty and all, famous if you wish. But you are earning the nickname of witch, you know?” Cold words left his mouth as he leaned against the wall, managing to find an empty corredor to talk with Amy. “Girls hate you and the boys you reject are starting to do the same. Maybe tone it down a little.”
