Imagine him getting home after days and days of long work to you cooking in the kitchen, and he slinks up behind you, sliding his arms over your hips, locking his fingers over your stomach as he buries his head into the crook of your neck, sighing as he starts to sway back and forth.

There’s some music playing- just something small you put on to avoid the silence that always settles when he isn’t around- maybe it’s I Only Have Eyes For You, maybe it’s Sweet Marie, but Ukai shifts you two to the beat until he’s got your head cradled in his chest, your socked feat tapping against the ground as he dances with you in slow circles.

He presses a kiss to the top of your head, and you feel your throat close up a little bit when you hear his sad sniffle. You swallow down the feeling and hold him tighter as you sway. Ukai rubs your back, his tired fingers drifting over your shirt as he hums happily.

“I missed you, sunny.”

Maybe you dry a tear with his shirt, but he doesn’t mind.

“I missed you too.”
