why is tumblr acting so hostile towards this magical boys anime??? people are acting like the magical girl genre is a "no boys allowed" club when in japan the target audience for many of those shows are adult men, not young girls. And besides, there not nearly as progressive as people treat them. They constantly enforce gender roles (which is a HUGE problem in japan) on women being innocent and feminine.
I understand that girls hardly get shit in stuff like shonen, sports, and many other genres, but a lot of magical girls arent much better sorry to say. Please stop putting them on such a high horse.
and even without all of that, is it so bad that theres a show that has boys doing something thats traditionally girly and feminine? is it??
