if the theory of bucky killing Gracie to put her out her misery is true, imagaine if at Gracie’s funeral, yelena puts Natasha’s necklace or smt around her body.

that way, natasha is connected to gracie even in the afterlife, and she is never able to escape her. i think that would be a nice final way to mug poor gracie off, considering she always seems to be getting the shit end of the stick.

while i do want to sit here for twenty minutes in straight shock and then possibly report you to the evil police for such a crime, this is also genius. like, it's unbelievably cruel to gracie, but dear god, it is also brilliant.

i think this would be a very good idea, actually, and i haven't considered it before so thank you for suggesting!! to me, it's important for people to understand that nat and gracie's relationship wasn't always in ruins, and while there is some of that in GT, it's somewhat tainted by the arrival of steve and therefore the building resentment we see in nat.

it takes gracie a long time to properly acknowledge inside herself that the way nat treated her wasn't ok. a long, long time. even though she's hurt and angry currently, she doesn't want to fully believe that nat's in the wrong. when people finally end up asking her about it, post-cw, she doesn't want to admit it. there's always some excuse she comes up with to defend nat, and i want people to see why she's like that.

nat loved gracie. she made her feel special and pretty and important, and for a kid like gracie, that was life-altering. she was somebody's favourite person for the first time ever. she felt like she belonged. i would love to show that side of nat that gracie still sees, not only because i miss writing nice!nat, but because it's crucial for understanding the extreme denial gracie felt surrounding natasha.

all the time!! younger gracie, not so much. the idea of grieving her self hasn't really kicked in yet, and it hasn't really hit her how incredibly wronged she's been throughout her entire life. but older gracie, absolutely. in the space of just a few days, nat dies in her place and then her dad dies too. she has the ground ripped out from under her and everything hits her like a truck.

gracie was a failed labratory experiment. she was raised by an agency as a collective because nobody wanted her, and then when someone finally did want her, they ended up changing their minds and hating her instead. she was used as leverage, barely seen as human and tossed around by the winter soldier like a ragdoll. natasha drugged and kidnapped her and left her in norway.

as you know i’m way too invested in that ill-fated thing that is gracie and nat’s relationship. so!!!

do you think if natasha could see gracie from wherever she is (definitely not heaven), she would feel guilty? sad? mad?? like how would she react to everything that happens to her and her fatal change too? how do you think she’d greet her in the afterlife if they were to see each other after gracie’s death?

this is a fabulous question, and truthfully, idk if i know the answer!! nat would have a lot of conflicting feelings. on one hand, she never really gets over her resentment of gracie, and there is a sick bit of satisfaction inside of her that gracie will forever be haunted by her. after all, the nat that loved gracie was akin to a spoilt, insecure child, and she only really started to hate her when she felt she was losing her to the world around them. seeing gracie never get over her would feed that part of herself rather sickeningly.

on the other hand, watching gracie's suffering spiral in the way it does wouldn't please her at all. gracie breaks and breaks and breaks all the way through gt, and by thunderbolts, she is shattered. she's hollow. nat wouldn't want that. the only part of gracie's suffering she enjoyed were the parts she could control, and the pain gracie experiences after her death is beyond anyone's control. it's messy and ugly and rotten. nat wouldn't want her to experience that.

if Gracie could bring back either Natasha or Steve from the dead, who would she choose.

at first it might seem like a silly question, considering gt!natasha is mean to Gracie. But perhaps because Gracie is so kind and forgiving, she thinks that if Natasha came back, they could have another chance of that same relationship they once did.

and, the familiarity of Natasha. As she was always there throughout Gracie’s life.

this is genuinely a really tough thing to try and answer, because i honestly do not know. i think it might depend on which era of gracie we're talking about? because tfatws!gracie would do ANYTHING to get her dad back, but hawkeye!gracie and thunderbolts!gracie need nat back so they can put their pain to rest.

gracie misses her dad the most, but there's this underlying incompletion when it comes to nat. gracie wants answers, and she wants reasons, and she wants to finally be able to stitch together her wounds. why didn't nat love her? why did she hurt her the way she did? what could she have done to stop it? she has a thousand questions for the woman who used to be her mom, and she wants them answered.
