Vulnerability wasn't something Cassandra allowed herself to show.
It wasn't often she experienced something that rocked her confidence, anyway; animalistic in nature, she acted on sadistic instinct alone, something that didn't offer a chance for doubt. The mutant always did the correct thing, in the moment.
So, when she's disturbed in the middle of the night by a visitor she doesn't care to identify, she utilizes her inhuman anatomy to launch herself forward -- claim their throat with her hand, grip vice, but not enough to cut off more than a small portion of oxygen.
Terrifying, yes, but not enough to kill. Not yet.
Fresh tears threatened last night's mascara, thin, messy lines streaked down face in the paths they had chosen to take. Like a threatened beast, Cassandra bares elongated teeth at her surprise visitor -- spittle clinging to them as accompanied by a hiss.
"What," and her snarl is much less 'friendly' than anything she's ever chosen to give grace before -- auric hues intense in their glare, "Are you doing here? Nobody sees me like that. Like this. Nobody!"
