Schein und Hoffnung von Baron Samedi Über Flickr: Die Maske zeigt nur einen oftmals falschen Schein und zeigt was nicht ist, das Licht zeigt oft den Weg im Dunkeln oder Wärmt das Gemüht.

There was darkness. Nothing but darkness and a dreadful feeling of all-consuming emptiness. Her thoughts, her emotions, her memories, everything that had turned this limp piece of flesh into a person... gone. Simply nonexistent, like they had never been there. All that was left was what felt like a huge, gaping hole in her chest. Slowly, one after another, her senses came to her. She was starting to feel her skin. A slight breeze was blowing and the cold night air covered her arms in goose bumps. Her upper body seemed to be covered in thick liquid... maybe she should find out what it was? But before she had even started to move her hand, the call of a cuckoo filled her ear with unexpected volume. She winced and nearly lost balance, only stopping herself from falling by gripping the surface she was sitting on in a swift, instinctive movement she hadn´t thought she would be capable of in her current state. The ground seemed to move slightly. Was she... on a swing? She tried to open her eyes, but they seemed glued together. Instead of regaining her vision, she suddenly perceived a sweet, but suffocating taste on her tongue. She spit out whatever had caused it, but a faint, unpleasant aftertaste remained. Finally, her eyelids parted and her surroundings came into focus. She was on a playground in a forest, and it was nighttime. The only source of light was a pale three-quarter moon. She looked down on herself. The thick, suffocating fluid had a dark red color - could it be... blood? As her gaze met the ground below her feet, she noticed that there was a trail of red drops leading from - or towards? - her position. Her gaze wandered along it and arrived at an old wooden bench completely covered in the red fluid (she didn´t want to assume it was blood until she had absolute proof), shards of glass scattered beneath it and a battered duffle bag perched on top of it. Slowly, holding on to the chains that held the swing in place, she stood up and began to walk with weary steps. The girl didn´t know where she was going to go, but she was sure of one thing: She wouldn´t go any nearer towards that bench. She didn´t know why, and she couldn´t explain it, but she had a feeling that there was nothing good for her to find in that old duffel bag. It was something she needed to leave behind, something she needed to distance herself from. Therefore, she turned her towards the opposite direction and began walking, trying her best to not sway too much. She had only taken a few steps when she saw a movement in the corner of her sight. Somebody - she could have sworn it had been a person - had turned their back towards her and dashed off. 'H-Hey!', she shouted in surprise. The movement stopped. Had the person halted? Or was he or she gone? 'D-Don´t run away! C-Come back!', she stuttered, her voice breaking and turning into a panicked shriek at the last word. She tried to get it back under control before screaming: 'D-Don´t leave me like this!', but it was to no avail. All she was capable of were pathetic, terrified screeches.
I guess I should post it here as well! The original sketch is from Horrorkissen!
I just inked and colored it a bit. Right now she´s working on her manga "Grablicht" (which the sketch is from, it´s the third book).
Hope you guys like it.
