As the sun sets on the most unexpected weekend of my life thus far, I actually think that I’ve learned and reaffirmed quite a lot about myself, and I’m much prouder of myself for doing this than I’ve been of myself in recent years. One, I am resilient and adaptable, and really can strike up a conversation with most people. I made festival acquaintances, maybe even festival friends I’ll never see again, and that’s okay. Two, I really do listen to just about all kinds of music, and had so much fun in the morning Just finding nee artists I’d never heard of and adding them to my library. Third, music is a huge part of who I am and I do want to make some, even if it’s just unedited singing covers of my karaoke favorites alone in my apartment. I also really do like making content. Most importantly: it is okay for me to say no. It is okay to advocate for myself and get the resources I need to get things done. It is okay to leave when I’m done with something. It is okay to retreat and recharge, and I’m not missing out on anything if I do that because taking care of myself is important. I was good company to myself and by the end of the weekend I was treating myself better. I was good company to myself and that was great. I would not have gotten through the weekend of festivaling mostly by myself had it not been for the access table they have there and all the earplugs they gave me. So much sensory overload, wow. Thank you so much to the access table for being so nice about the earplugs I kept losing and being sympathetic to my overloaded brain. Also shout out to @carlyraejepsen’s set for being the only set I could see within the crowd. and not need the earplugs! There were some others I could but I was further away.
