More on the Amazing Care Government Provides
This is a regular topic of conversations that I participate in. I say “Free Market” and then someone goes on a tangent about how healthcare is a ‘right.’ (That’s a subject for a whole other day).
So they want the government involved in EVERY level of healthcare purchasing decisions? What would make ANYONE think that our Federal or State Governments are remotely equipped to deal with this? Obviously, they have never talked to someone who deals with the VA on a regular basis (my husband is a disabled vet; disabled due to military healthcare malpractice that active duty can’t sue over).
I guess these people love the DMV, TSA, USPS, DHS, HHS, EPA, FDA, and state run child protective service departments. All of these government agencies operate at high cost with low quality.
I have been told “well it’s better than getting bankrupted / being charged xxx a day...”
A Fallacy! The cost of care STILL EXISTS. Care does not become magically FREE because the government (us taxpayers) are footing the bill. Taxes go up exponentially, take home pay goes way down, and QUALITY of care goes down.
Here are some recent articles outlining how wonderful single payer is
Even other countries who have single payer services are starting to admit to their ever growing problems.
