It occurred to me that since I began working on my own strategy RPG Outcasts of the Rift that I haven’t drawn ANY people in the past few years. So, I decided to challenge myself to draw one favorite Fire Emblem character for each letter of the alphabet! Check back every week or so for a new character!
L is for Lewyn!
He’s clever, charming, handsome—he has one of my favorite character designs in the series—and is musically inclined. Beneath his slightly snarky sense of humor lies surprising wisdom and savviness. I’m very much looking forward to him having supports in a Genealogy of the Holy War remake…maybe next year. *sigh* I also hope he keeps the same voice actor as in Heroes. Steve Staley’s voice is perfect for him.
Lewyn also very fun to play as, and one of my favorite mages in Fire Emblem to use. I like to put as many rings as possible on him—most of all, the Knight Ring and Leg Ring—to make him laughably overpowered. Lewyn with 9 movement, Canto, Renewal (for the rare occasions he actually takes damage) and a +20 speed and +10 skill boost? Yes, please! I haven’t known Lewyn as long as many of the other characters in this alphabet, but he quickly became one of my favorites both as a unit and a character.
Leif and Lethe were very close seconds, and I feel genuinely bad about the fact that there may not be any Thracia 776 characters represented in my alphabet, even though I (mostly) enjoy that game and think it has an underrated cast. Unfortunately, all the Thracia 776 characters I like have names with very competitive letters (e.g. my three favorite Thracia 776 characters after Leif all have names that start with S.)
Overall, L is one of the strongest letters for me, with Lethe’s twin Lyre, Leo, Legault, Lissa, Libra, Laslow, Lehran, Lena, Lucius, Lara, Luthier, Lifis and L’Arachel. Lyn and Lucina, along with Leif, are some of my favorite lords. Lots of Ls!
