Also, I feel seen as someone who also has a beater Corolla that is as old as I am LMAO. Agreed, they were both so clearly in the best “skating” shape they’d ever been in, as Scott said in some interview or another I can’t remember where. Especially going into the Olympics, Scott was very clearly in peak athletic/Olympic shape (Tessa never looks out of peak shape, lez-be-honest, but she was extra extra extra in peak shape, the speed of the rotational lift and how fast she gets up is proof. like looking at carmen vs mr, the speed is mind boggling) and what I find so interesting is that Scott wasn’t at all bulky, he wasn’t just doing reps at the gym to put on muscle, it was all movement to fit their skating.

Then I look at Zach D, who has just gotten bigger and bigger and its done the opposite to help him, he’s definitely probably in the best shape he’s ever been in, but not the best skating shape, like he literally over powered their stationary lift and they wound up in fourth and destroyed all their momentum into worlds. that much bulk means less control, less finesse, less flexibility (in a skating sense).
