I remember wayback when someone had asked me if overweight Gordanathi exist. I think I may have accidentally deleted the ask, but yes, while not very common amongst any caste they do exist! They're pretty well respected though because the same genetics that cause them to retain weight also makes them much stronger than a typical Gordanathi, especially in the females. Overweight Gordanathi are typically seen in fighting professions, or any profession that requires a great deal of physical strength.

They're refered to as Supo Gordanathi, and come in aaaall sizes.

@loverofmythology well that poses an interesting question, one which I played around with a LOT but ultimately when the Gordanathi left their homeworld due to it being destroyed and all by a supernova, a lot of the Gordanathi population decided to stay behind and meet their fates "as Ka'az had decided" but the majority of the high court decided to yeet themselves into the past because hey thats just more time to enjoy a loooooong empire. (Granted they did not expect earth was gonna be there. Someone's math was a teensy bit off). Regardless, it was ALSO decided that since so many had chosen to stay behind so willingly, Urai and the court decided to not transmit any sort of information on to the then current Gordanathi race, which by their calculations were JUST starting to explore space then. And even if the information had been sent out to warn the past Gordanathi, the information would have been so degraded and muddled over millions of years, or even lost, so interloping with humans romantically isn't really about a time disruption thing or an interbreeding thing (human and Gordanathi DNA don't jive together. Like cats and dogs.) Its more of the Gordanathi being snooty with their luster castes. In some circles/families humans are lower than the pewter caste. Sure you can be friendly with them to a point, but would you like to tarnish your reputation and your family's reputation just because you wanted to bone a squishy little Lusterless? (The REALLY snoby call humans Lusterless's) NO SIR. Reputation, pedigree and castes mean everything to this species.

Maybe human customs that make them embarrassed/uncomfortable but humans have no idea why or just general culture clash between their own social norms and human social norms (I hope that makes sense, I’m sorry my English is terrible)

I often get a LOT of requests for the Gordanathi and their lore! Which I don't mind one little bit! I often think about them, heavily.

However, for embarrassing human customs I had actually not thought about that! So good catch! I think body mods like enhancement surgeries (i.e. implants, nose jobs ect) weird them out a little, but they're typically very polite about it. I also think that pda is pretty taboo, and humans are a VERY openly affectionate race. For the Gordanathi, relationships are best enjoyed behind closed doors, because its an intimacy thing. Thats not to say they aren't openly friendly- they just think the romantic couply things are best left private.

And as a bonus, they think sunglasses are hillarious because they make you look like a big bug. Like, if the sun hurts your eyes, just like... evolve?

1. Gordanathi are not made of the metal their flesh appears to be. Its more like a tough layer of metalic proteins they naturally produce. Kinda like when bugs look all shiny and metalic I guess. So if there ever could be a lithium Gordanathi (which I'm sure the coloration is possible due to it being in the pewter caste) their skin would not react as the actual metal. It is just a coloration due to particular genetics.

2a. There is such a stigmatisim against inter caste breeding-especially in the higher castes- that a silver would not even dare to try, and vice versa. However, for the sake of the ask, it could potentially go one of three ways: you could have a big silver, a small gold, or a hybrid that could possibly pass as a lesser gold as long as there was no genotyping to descover lineage. But like I said, the stigmatism keeps the golds and silvers fairly separate. There are also powerful and highly effective birthcontrols that they utilize for any spurr of the moment secret trists.

2b. A human and a Gordanathi could hope for a child, but they would never get one. While the equipment all hooks up and feels pretty good doing it, there is the problem of gametic isolation. The genetic materials just don't mix well together. This is pretty much a blessing for a few secretive relationships.

As for the questions!

While the castes are there for status and titles, there's no significant power gaps between the classes. Everyone is pretty much treated semi-equally. There are lords and ladies in each class and such and such, but golds and silvers are the only ones as High Lords because they are bigger and stronger, and their ancestors fought viciously to secure their families titles for future generations. With exception of Kanu. Fun fact, that once the High Lord court was established, the Gordanathi never abolished the process in which to become a High Lord, which is right of challenge by combat. It was never changed because for all that time they remained seemingly unchallenged, and when they were challenged they typically won.

THAT BEING SAID, having a romantic/breeding relationship outside of ones caste (or species) is not illegal or banned, but it IS taboo and highly looked down upon and has a high chance of both (or more) individuals being ostracized (how the f do you spell this word) from their communities. That is.. if it comes out as public. There are many cases of secret affairs between castes and humans. Its just.. super secretive, and most of the time very well hidden.

I had a lovely request from @loverofmythology and of course I had to use it as an opportunity to "flesh out" some internal Gordanathi workings. And also drawing skulls is one of my //finger kisses// favorite things to do when it comes to my non-human ocs

Gordanathi DO blush, but its not very visible to the human eye, but it IS visible to Gordanathi eyes, because of the thickness of Gordanathi skin makes it hard for blood to show through, but if you focus reeeeeaally hard you can see the faint black of a blush around the creases in their skin.

Gordanathi can see it very well, because of the heat that comes off of them. You can typically tell if a Gordanathi is blushing by plopping your hands on their faces (if they would even let you). If it hot, they blush. If they cool, they not blush.
