Thumbprint Challenge
tagged by @sleepyowlwrites ! thanks for thinking of me :))
rules: look back on your work, both past and present, finished and unfinished. what are five to ten narrative elements or tropes that continuously pop up in your work? tag as many people as the number of tropes you listed.
1. Verbal confrontation: I noticed this a lot in the stuff I’ve posted so far. People have words. Speaking of which, I probably overuse italics.
2. Split family: but who is having these confrontations, you might ask? The answer is often family. And not petty stuff like who finished the milk- we’re talking big moral questions here, right vs wrong.
3. Parent issues: this kind of goes hand-in-hand with #2, but there’s a lot of parental issues hanging in the balance, particularly daddy issues.
4. Possessiveness: this is featured lot in my newer works, which I have yet to post here. I have a thing for some sort of underdog escaping the overbearing thumb of some overly powerful figure (by wealth, magic, or something else). This possessiveness can be featured in any type of relationship (parent-child, SOs, etc), as long as the person on the receiving end of the possessiveness does not accept it, if that makes sense?
5. Chasing: I love a good chase or a race, particularly where the antagonist is chasing the protagonist.
6. Bromance: what can I say? I like to craft strong platonic relationships.
That’s six, so here are my six tags:

@thatsmybluefondue
@fragilebutfloral
@ryns-ramblings
@moonahlisa
@larissa-the-scribe
Absolutely no pressure, and obvs you don’t have to do it again if you already did it!
