Earlier this year, Streeters donated to Smile Train, an organization that provides corrective surgery for children with cleft lips and palates. Here's what we received in the mail thanking you for all your support!

Although many of the cleft children who come to our partner surgeons for help don't have much to smile about, 3-year-old Omkar Jadhav couldn't help but give us a gigantic smile when he found that he was going to get free cleft repair surgery. In both his "before" and his "after" photo, he can be seen beaming a smile of joy with a twinkle in his eyes. Thanks to you, Omkar has a brand new chance at life! 

You can see from his photo before surgery how difficult it must have been for him to eat. How different he looked from the other boys and girls in his village. And how talking and pronouncing words would have been a real challenge for this little boy. 

Fortunately, his parents heard about Smile Train's partner hospital, Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital in central India. Dr. Abhilasha Yadav perfromed Omkar's cleft repair surgery for FREE because generous friends like you sponsored his surgery. 

Just a few weeks later, his new smile is nearly perfect. The tiny scars are almost completely healed and will fade with time. His parents were overjoyed to see him looking so well after surgery - they wanted to let every Smile Train supporter know how grateful they are to have a healthy son with a bright future ahead.
