Star of the Stage Jonghyun...
Today, I woke up to the news that Jonghyun of SHINee has passed away...
And the best way I can describe the amount of shock and heartbreak I feel is it feels like when you walk down a pair of stairs mindlessly and you miss one or two steps...in that short amount of time your heart stops and even after you find your bearings, you are still startled and in shock and your heart is still beating fast but also beating heavily. I don’t know...
Jonghyun was my first bias and Shinee was the very second boy band I fell in love with. I took my time to mourn quietly, but there’s only so much mourning you can do...
Jonghyun devoted his life to making others feel good about themselves and standing up for others. He has touched so many lives for the better and truly fought for social injustices...it was this I admired the most and will miss deeply. The world can be such a cruel place, and it took him way too early, but please remember him for what he was and the goodness and great music and beautiful visuals and vocals that he brought to South Korea and the world.
Please take this time to tell the people in your life that they are important, and their existence on this earth is important...and that you love them. And that without them, life would be so dull. In depressing times like these, people need to know that they are important and needed, and that their presence makes life better...
My heart goes out to Shinee fans of all creed and color, Jonghyun’s family, and the other members of Shinee. Today truly is sad day... the weather seems a little colder and the skies are gray...it seems quieter...
SHINee, has lost a member today, and the saddest part is that he is not coming back. Jonghyun my prince...your were a star that brought light to the stage for 10 years... but now my love, you are a star of the skies.
