Wake up.. Time to come back home 🇫🇷 #discoverindia #goodbyeindia #indianmood #goodmorning #yoga #yogagirl (à Taj Bangalore)
28th October 2016
For our last day in Mumbai we thought we would try out a shopping mall, as we had a night flight that evening and our first impressions of Mumbai had been how dirty, noisy and the desperate sense of poverty that surrounded you. After a local night walk the previous evening to a restaurant passing uninviting slums a wonder around the streets didn't seem appealing so to the mall we went. Met by shops, arcades, food hall, rides and trampolines we happily spent 5 hours there!! Mumbai's traffic was painful so when we finally got to the airport we had a odd sense that we didn't really get a chance to say a proper goodbye to India and celebrate the 3 weeks we spent getting to know it. So here is our delayed goodbye.... Thank you India for amazing food, giving us a greater understanding of Indian life and poverty, meeting amazing elephants and seeing wonderful places and of course our 'moment' with the Taj Mahal. Goodbye to the zero building regulations and the scaffolding being made out of Bamboo (really!!) bye to the toilet showers that we all grew to love and to everyone calling Lois 'baby' (which over the 3 weeks I think she warmed too) Goodbye to the endless bag X-ray machines when there is nobody actually looking at them and with endearing love farewell to the sound of the horn... we shall miss you India. After a night flight and a very wary connecting flight we arrived in Bali. Lois nailed the sleeping on both planes. Lincoln, Robin and myself not so much! Another traffic ridden journey but we arrived at our @airbnb villa complete with pool and instantly felt relaxed and ready to begging our new Indonesian adventure. Destination two on our travels is in full swing.
