“Redemption“ Beyond Death
Now that the young man, Kousuke, was gone and he was on his own again. Jin Keisuke was finally able to give himself a chance to read this letter he found while going through the ruins of the old organization with him.
The letter he found had a familiar insignia of a man he had, twice, helped kill and was hoping would stay dead. Obviously, a letter from him in a place he worked wouldn’t be odd, but just the bit he did read was enough to make him quickly shove it in his pocket for later instead of chancing to spill his own reaction aloud or around the kid he hid his true self from.
Because the letter was quite obviously addressed to him. From just a look at the beginning line made him sweat as he never saw it before and it straight up stated. “Dear Jin Keisuke”. It was a letter for him from the man Apollo Geist himself.
It couldn’t be he was alive right? Maybe it was just a letter he wrote before and never ended up giving to him? No, it just felt too perfect, with how Apollo always had been, for him to just happen to find it now to be a coincidence he came across it. He had no way of a letter from him, to him, to just happen to be around where he ends up going just by chance.
There’s no way.
“Dear Jin Keisuke,
You’re still alive it seems, that’s good. After all it’s only -I- who is allowed to kill you. I hope you remember that. I’m sure you’re confused to why I’d send you such a letter, well, if you’re willing to find out, let’s make a game out of it.
It could be fun. Makes me think back to how many times I’ve played you without your knowledge of me doing so. Many-a-time, hasn’t it been? Would be odd to write my own laughter so I’ll avoid it, but I’m sure you can hear every evil chuckle from my lips as if I was speaking directly to you.
As I said, let us make a game out of this. If you really want to know, find the first place we met from -my- perspective. It’ll be tricky but I’m sure you’d be able to figure out where it was. You’ll find a metal box awaiting the location if you can.
I’ll be waiting. Apollo Geist”
