what if.... he... dated bumi when he was in uf (thats canon) and then they broke up- and bumi and izumi fell in love and married while gommu kind of fucked of?

that is all i have thought of so far, along with some awkward headcanons like he has babysat iroh ii and his sister.

This friendly vagabond is a staple of Republic City Park. Not everybody is well off as you may imagine, so they come to the park for the fresh water, fish, and beauteous bushes.

Gommu was born in Republic City to immigrant non-benders. He was raised in an orphanage until he was 15, when he lied about his age in order to join up with the United Forces as a telegraph operator. Working on ships as they traversed the word, Gommu grew to love the nomadic lifestyle.
