starter for @goldtones
It had been a while since he'd been in town, spending the last couple of years touring the country both for inspiration and performances, and Genya felt a strong need to catch up with a good friend that he hadn't seen in person since leaving. Texts and video calls were no substitute for spending time with a person who'd helped shape who Genya had become.
It was a surprise he'd planned for Zenitsu, who he hadn't even yet told that he was home, that Genya came to the Peach Pit. He knew where the other man worked from their conversations, and was able to find it with ease. Even from the entrance as Genya arrived, he could hear his friend's familiar voice - matured, smoother and well-tuned since their high school years, but still very recognizable from times they'd practiced together. It brought a hint of a smile to Genya's lips to hear.
Both of them had gone further than what they'd talked of as teenagers, even from just a couple of years ago. It made him proud.
Mingling into the lounge, Genya found a table a row or so away from where Zenitsu was performing, sitting down to listen. Dressed in dark clothes and silver accessories, with his long black hair pulled into a ponytail that exposed the shaved sides, Genya looked much the same as ever, so if Zenitsu were to spot him, the other man would surely recognize him.
As the song he walked in on came to a close, Genya made certain to clap loudly, cheering to get his friend's attention.
