It was requested that I come read a book at my daughter's preschool. When I arrived promptly at noon, I was greeted with a big hug and handed the book, Goldilicious. Reading to a room full of 4 and 5 year old involves being interrupted, speaking at a fairly loud volume, and having to stop to show the pictures around the classroom.  It was at one of the times that I stopped to show the book around the room that I noticed that there was some freshly harvested vegetables on a table.  I exclaimed, "I love beets!" A young boy sitting next to me stated matter-of-factly, "Those are radishes." I then mentioned, "I enjoy radishes especially sliced on thickly buttered baguettes." I finished the story and everyone was entertained, full from lunch, and ready for a nap. 

Review of Goldilicious:

This is one of a series of books by Victoria Kann. In this story, Pinkalicious has an imaginary friend named Goldilicious who is a unicorn. 

I enjoyed reading this story and Pinkalicious is a strong role model for children. She is not afraid what others think of her and she moves to the beat of her own drum.  This story is no different even when the opposition comes from her own brother.
