1. does your f/o have any special nicknames for you? what are they? do you have a favorite?

Gokudera isn't exactly super openly affectionate or romantic. He is pragmatic and when he is romantic it is a rare, but genuine moment just between them. While he doesn't have a special nickname, he does sometimes call Rena "tesoro" (itl. treasure) and has refered to her as a sun or glowing star, though never to her face.

2. do you and your f/o share any hobbies? what are they? do you see one another as rivals, collaborators, something else?

Rena and Hayato are competitive spirits and often get into little competitions with each other that usually hold either no stakes but their pride, or chores and small gifts. It's never harsh enough that Dera becomes seriously upset over a loss (he actually really appreciates that she can give him a run for his money), but it's also never completely trivial. These competitions can range from who gets to a place first, to directly facing off in a video or card game (especially with poker and other games where you have to keep your reactions in check Rena usually has the upper hand due to her knowledge in acting and directing, being able to pick up on the subtlest of changes in Gokuderas demeanor, who still has a hard time keeping his emotions in check).

Interestingly enough when it comes to hobbies they diverge a bit. Rena loves to be creative, her work at the theater is incredibly fullfilling to her, so she spends a lot of time going to see different plays and reads new pieces. Hayato is also very creative, but his creativity leans more towards the engineering and constructing. In that they are supportive with and towards each other, but don't necesarily always partake in the others interest. However they both are interested in the supernatural, with Rena being a scaredy cat that is mostly into mythology and the occult while Hayato is more interested in cryptids and extraterestrials. Hayato likes going ghost hunting or cryptid hunting and once in a while he can persuade Rena to tag along though not without promising up and down that he won't scare her on purpose and that he'll protect her if anything does happen.

One hobby they do participate in together is movie nights. They switch up who picks the movie and each one of them has a chance to veto a pick. They both enjoy watching all kinds of movies and talk about them, dissecting story, special and practical effects, character writing and acting, directing- they can both contribute their own knowledge to these talks which are even more enjoyable to them than the movies themselves.

3. do you have any songs that remind you of your f/o? a playlist? what do they think of it, if you’ve shared it with them?

Okay so I USED to have a playlist but I deleted it orz, tho there are two songs I def remember associating with this ship which is

Cinderblock Garden by All Time Low and Perfect by Topic and Ally Brooke

4. where are your favorite places to go with your f/o? what’s your favorite part of that place, or the time you spend together there?

When it comes to favourite places to be at then there come only 3 to mind. First is Renas apartment. It's a small 2 room flat with an open kitchen, a big livingroom with a narrow balcony and a small bedroom. It's cozy but not claustrophobic and Hayato stays over a few times. After a very eventful day it's nice to flop onto the sofa and watch a movie together.

Then there is one of Renas favourite cafes. It's in a sidestreet of the city, rather small and has a bit of a maritime country-chic flair with exceptionally good coffee and cake. They don't usually house big groups or many people so it never feels cramped and or overwhealming when it comes to the surounding noise.

Last but definitely not least is the westpark. It's close to the Residence where the Neo Vongola stay in italy and is often place of performances by Renas theater group Mosaico. It's a nice small park with one half of the park being mostly greenspace for people to chill on and the other being a bit more groomed, layed out and romantic with benches and grenery tunnels.

The festival is in full swing. After weeks of hard preparation and last minute planning the weekend long festival in the little district had gone into overdrive. It's late in the evening already. The Squad 4 members, except for one of them were already drunk. Leo was half passed out, Ava ready to follow him any second, as Lorenzo leaned the other against him and Sergey was still or again back on the dancefloor, swaying and yodeling, either drunk from the alcohol or the atmosphere.

After all their preparation, Tsunas plan had worked like a charm. And all thanks to everyones hard work. It's strange for Gokudera to be peaceful like this. Somehow he hadn't even really noticed how tense he was all this time. In Namimori it seemed easy. But here? Back in italy? Almost impossible. The alcohol from his wine was slowly taking effect and he half caught back into the conversation.

"--that's why it's so deeply engaging you know? Because despite the play not having a main character, you could still argue that she is the protagonist, especially with how it ends with her asserting herse- Are you listening?"

Cheeks flushing red Rena pouts, Hayato stares just a bit too long at her before he catches himself.

"No, sorry."

"I feel like an idiot ranting about theater again-"

He shakes his head.

"I like seeing you passionate."

Rena had just taken a sip of her glass when she suddenly chokes and starts coughing. Almost reflexively Hayato takes her glass away so she won't spill more and watches her struggle to regain composure.

She's cute.

Is that the alcohol speaking? No idea, he usually has a stronger tolerance. Eventually she catches herself more, groaning in displeasure, her whole face now red.

"Damn did- did I just catch that correctly? Did you just say something akin to a compliment?"

With a huff he frowns and holds her drink away.

"Dunno, still debating if I did, or you hallucinated from the alcohol." Hands raise to the level of her shoulders in defense. She looks apologetically at him, but still with a smile.

"Sorry, sorry, it's just so rare! I mean---" A bit shy she looks away, playing with her hair.

Does she... like me?

The thought comes sudden, but from her behavior and all their previous encounters-- maybe she does?

And what's so wrong about that?

Nothing wrong if you enjoy her company right?

That's as good a reason as any, right?

"I meant to say that it's not your usual tone so I was surprised, that's all."

He pauses, thinking, then leans a bit closer to her, still holding her glass hostage.

"Say. Hypothetically."

"Y-Yeah?"

He studies her expression, her body language.

If you both want it....

......then what speaks against it?

"Hypothetically. I actually liked spending time with you."

"Y-Yes?" She seemes to shy away a bit, but he notices the distance. She could lean far further away if she wanted. He isn't trapping her. She just decides not to.

He leans closer.

"And... hypothetically."

".... hypothetically..."

He nods.

"Hypothetically I wanted to spend more time with you..."

His voice, despite the noise around them drops to a whisper, she can still clearly hear.

"What... would your answer be?"

The pause is too long for him, but before he can pull back he notices her relaxing, leaning a bit towards him.

".... I'd say I feel the same..."

This is all he needs.

His lips meet hers and Hayato closes his eyes. Her lips are warm and blush and a bit sticky from her cocktail and lipstick. She tastes like oranges and cinnamon. Around them the festival is still going strong, but to them it's as if they are the only people in the world. The kiss is pleasant, almost ... comfortable. Her lips snug nicely against his and her warmth is enveloping.

Yeah... He enjoys this.

Neither want to part, lips lingering before they finally seperate, slowly opening their eyes. It's quiet between them and he can see her flushed face, when rather close in front of them two girls pass, giggling, stopping right before Hayato and Rena. When he looks at them he recognizes two of the members of her small theater group. They are tightly holding hands and staring at them, surprised but with a certain curiosity as if they stumbled upon some noteworthy gossip. One of them seems to gasp a little and Hayato sees out of the corner of his eyes how Rena pouts and gives them a hand signal to get moving. The girls giggle and go back on their merry way, leaving both of them in silence. Neither of them exactly know what comes now.

He doesn't want to think. Not tonight. Tonight he will just indulge.

With one motion he gives her back her glass and after she grabs it with one hand he reaches for her other and just holds it.

Maybe.... it doesn't need words.

Maybe things are fine like this.

"I had a great time with you, Hayato! So let's say goodbye here!"

"..."

"I knew this would one day happen. I don't fault you. I got into this relationship knowing that you will always put your famiglia and especially Tsuna first."

"..."

Its a warm day in italy and early in the morning. Rena is just sniffling and sneezing and feels sluggish. But the premier is soon and they have still to iron out some scenes and reherse them so even if she hasnt slept that well she will push through!

She sneezes again and Hayato, preparing his coffee and having so far not commented on her snifflinf and sneezing is gettinf a bit agitated

"Are you getting sick or something?"

"No."

"Bullshit, check your temperature!"

"Ugh! Drop it. I gotta go!"

She doesnt but she wants to escape any mention of sickness, nopr she is not getting sick that's stupid. Also she has a premier to get ready for.

So she packs her stuff and goes out to groceryshop.

They dont need a lot but she had to leave.

Its so damn warm on this day. She feels so weak. Probably because she didnt sleep well.

Maybe she should at least take it easy tod--

Her phone rings and she takes the call

There has been an issue with the backdrop for the play and the seamstress is a bit behind and needs some help.

So before her group collects for rehersal she helps out at the theater.

By the time rehersal starts she is a bit wobbly on her feet

Her group notices and they are concerned but she says its fine and she will just not push herself so much.

So she pushes herself too much during rehersal, trying to demonstrate something in full swing when it suddenly gets all black before her eyes.

She wakes up on the floor a few of her members around her and someone is yelling to someone else that she woke up and she can faintly hear someone saying "--yes she just regained consciousness again."

She tries to get up but one of the larger guys gently prevents her from it.

"Don't move so fast or you might hurt yourself."

She feels ashamed to be making a scene but the entire ensemble agrees to stop here and get her home to lay down first. They will just reherse what they have without her and memorize the lines properly.

Rena is mayed to lay down with a wet cold towel on her head. Some wonder if its the heat, others wonder if she is getting sick.

someone mentions to get her a cab home while someone else says to first inform her boyfriend.

Yeah no- she wants to protest and say she will make it home alone when the big guy from before mentions that he has her boyfriends number for emergencies.

She silently curses for ever having given it to him but its also when the fever really kicks in and with it the cramps that make her sweat and writhe in pain. Its different from period cramps. and its painfull.

She knows hayato wont come and get her he is busy with work. Someone says they will quickly go buy some painkillers against the fever and the cramps.

When hayato is called he takes the call and listens, tensing as he looks to tsuna and then presses his lips together. Tsuna frowns confused.

"I... Have to talk with my boss. If I cant make it I will definitely send someone asap." then he hangs up.

"What's wrong?"

"Rena collapsed at the theater, she has a fever and cramps."

Tsuna and Yamamotos eyes widen

"You should go get her home then!"

"But-"

"Gokudera!"

Before he can even start with his counter argument Tsuna nips it in the bud. He is not having that.

"I do not accept being the reason why you do not aid your partner during her time of need. I can handle myself and Yamamoto is still with me."

(a bit further away ava makes a soft "Oooh! :O" and claps into his hands while Sergey whistles. "He really sounds like a boss now!")

Tsunas cheeks turn slightly red at rhe praise feom afar but he stands his ground and Gokudera wirh gritted teeth bows.

"Thank you, Neo Primo. I'll be going then."

And as soon as he has officially clocked out he fucking SPRINTS to get to the cars.

Her ensemble meanwhile worries and debates if to get her a cab after all but then decide to wait at least till their one member returns with the painmeds.

The guy comes back and Rena takes the meds asking ro get a bit more time to relax before she goes home. Ahe will just lay down on the sofa outside. One of rhe girls offers to stay with her just in case and the rest return to rehersal.

Luckily tsuna and co were already close so hayato turns up quickly and parks right in a restricted area.

He rings the bell to the theater and the rehersal stops for a second before someone decides to go open the door.

Rena sits up wondering who it might be bc that was way too fast to be hayato or someone he sent.

So thr door opens and whoop its hayato who quickly moves towards rhe theaterhall to get rena, stopping when he sees her on the sofa right outside.

"Hayato?!"

"Oh yeah, you look aweful."

"Thanks-" she sniffs again and takes a tissue to wipe her nose.

"I'll take her home now." he tells the two members who just nod

"C-can I at least say goodbye to everyone?"

"If its quick."

The other two member tell the ensemble and rhey all stop for a moment to say goodbye at least with the tallest of the guys frowning.

"Some asshole psrked their Maserati on the restricted area." hayato frowns

"That's my work car."

It gets uncomfortably quiet.

"Doesn't change that its a restricted area."

"Don't worry, I'm leaving now." he says in his usual tone and Rena weakly slaps his side.

"Behave."

He wants to retort something but doesnt, for her sake and instead lifts her up in a bridal carry

"I'll take her home now."

"What are--!" Rena blushes but then scrambles foe words asking if anyone has another key for the facility and the tallest holds up his keyring promising to close up when they're done.

Someone holds open the doors for them snd its a short walk to the car.

"If you didnt rush out but listened to me and checked your temo this morning this wouldnt have happened."

"I have s premier to prepare for! You'd drag yourself ro work even if you had gotten your legs chopped off!"

He pauses. "Fair."

At home he lays her down in bed and makes sure she is taken care off, ordering food for the both of them and checking in with Shamal to come by and have a look st her.

of course not without threatening that if the guy does ANYTHING dodgy, Dera will kill him.

Even tho he does return to work the next day he gives her a pager for emergencies and says that chrome said she'd come by to check on rena later.
