I MADE IT 🏆 ...didn't I? 🤔 I was blessed to have great parents who literally gave me the world. They not only provided the best for my sisters and me, but they also gave us what I didn't realize I would need the most: DIRECTION 🎯 The opportunity to question and experiment if indeed we were heading in the right direction is something so valuable yet it is overlooked in traditional western thinking and in societies that focus heavily on external achievements. Question: If your car is moving at 100 mph, does that mean you are getting closer to your destination? No. Because you could be going in reverse and so in actuality, you would be moving further away from where you needed to go. Speed is great, and trust me, I'm a lover of going fast, but until we have the right direction, speed can actually be hurting us. So what is the right direction and how does one ensure they are moving closer to their goal, not further away? I could easily say that the right direction can be found in Holy books like the Bible, Quran, Bhagawad Gita, etc, and in a way, that would not be wrong. But just by reading something, does not mean we are going to follow it and it does not mean that we will completely imbibe it when faced with real-life decisions. At most, these books can inspire us. The right direction will have to come from within you, from your own introspection, contemplation, and meditation. Sometimes it will come by going in the wrong direction for a while and realizing that you made a mistake. It will come from your own realizations of what is truly important in life and what investment of your time will yield the best results. There is no cookie-cutter right direction, despite popular belief. If you want to realize something faster, take faster risks, make faster mistakes, and get back up faster. Then you will surely reach the destination faster. As the saying goes, "There is no such thing as free lunch". The work must be done by you.
