Zilas x gn reader --- IMPLIED SPOILERS!! Fluff turned light angst
The sounds of the heavy rain quieted the jingling keys. You sighed as you walked inside the house, shivering slightly as the cold air of the ac hit your face.
‘What the heck Zilas, it's already cold outside, why's it gotta be cold in the house?’
The sound of your boyfriend happily talking to his followers was heard as you moved towards your shared bedroom, which he used as his office.
“I was just standing outside in a staring contest with a random black cat from across the street when out of nowhere it started pouring rain!!”
You smiled as you leaned on the door frame, simply watching him tell his followers about his day. Before quickly remembering the fact that there was still rain water dripping off of you and the ac was still blasting. Zilas quickly turned his head to the side as you sighed and walked further into the room. He smiled widely as he jumped up from his seat and pulled you into a huge hug.
“Gosh! I was wondering when you'd be home! The rain was starting to worry me!”
You wrapped your arms around his neck, closing your eyes and burying your face into the crook of his neck. Letting his body warmth heat you back up.
“Sorry it took me longer than usual” You muttered against his skin, not caring that your wet clothes were now going to leave a mark on him. He pulled away from you and stared at your face with a pout. “Don't apologize for that, I don't want you to get hurt in this weather!”
You smiled as you looked up (or down if you happen to be taller) at him. He noticed some of your hair that was sticking to your face from the rain and gently tucked it behind your ear, before pressing a quick kiss to your lips.
“Go take a warm bath, relax!” You giggled at him as he kept covering your face with kisses. Tightening your grasp on him before pulling away to grab some clean comfy clothes. You both waved to each other as he went back to his stream, apologizing for walking away.
“My amazing partner was out in that horrible rain! And they just got back so how could I not greet them with so much love!!”
You let out a content sigh as you flopped onto your bed. The warmth from your hot bath still comforted you as your comfy clothes added to the joy. Zilas was saying his goodbyes to his followers as you laid down on the bed. Gathering all the blankets and putting yourself into a little blanket burrito. After a minute or two you heard his chair move away from the desk as he stood up, and footsteps started to approach the bed.
“Are you comfy in there?” He chuckled as he looked down at the bed. Smiling as he looked at the blankets which were completely balled up. Poking your head out of the warm blankets, you smiled at him as you nodded your head.
“Extremely comfortable, but… something's missing,” you rolled to the side as you looked off in thought. “I wonder, oh I wonder, what's missing!”
He laughed at you as he jumped onto the bed, right next to you. Wrapping his arms around your blanket burrito and pulling you on top of him. You laughed as he pried the blankets open and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you close. You rested your head on his chest as his hands moved to your back, gently running his hands along your skin.
“Zilas…” You whispered his name but kept your head against his chest, hearing the way his heart raced just from hearing you say his name.
“What?” The smile was evident in his voice as he looked down at you.
Silence. He didn't answer as you continued to listen to his heartbeat, faintly hearing him take a deep breath.
“I-” He stopped, sighing out before he cupped your face in his hands, smiling as he pressed a soft kiss on the bridge of your nose. “The heater broke, I called someone to fix it tomorrow so… don't worry.”
You were worried at how he seemed to be acting but assumed you were imagining things, sighing as you nodded your head and kissed him. Laying your head back down against his chest as he tightened his grasp on you. He glanced over at the nightstand which was hiding the engagement ring that he went out in the cold to get you. Sighing out in disappointment as he looked out at the window to watch the rainfall but quickly decided to turn over and stare at you as you slowly fell asleep.
Besides, it's not like the black cat watching him from his window was actually cold outside. So why should he be worried about it?
