tel. i mightve asked u this alr and if i did im SOO sorry but i NEEDDDD u to tell me the fitzroy book ur going insane over. im so curious and its eating me alive
ok so the thing is. its not just one fitzroy book. there are actually multiple. and tbh i will admit i am still a little bit fuzzy on the reading order because it is. a Big series (slash. collection of series. but they are all set in the same world and vaguely interconnected) BUT I WILL TRY MY BEST 🫡 to explain the bits i’ve read so far
the best place to start is probably The Hands of The Emperor. HOWEVER!!! i must warn you that it contains No Fitzroy although it does contain a plenitude of other cool guys and things. if you want to meet fitzroy straight away you could start with Derring-Do For Beginners (and possibly the rest of the red company books too but i haven't read those so i dont know for sure if they’re free of spoilers for. the big spoiler) and then circle back to The Hands of The Emperor. After that there are two short stories, Petty Treasons and The Game of Courts, which technically take place before/concurrently with the Hands of the Emperor and don’t spoil it but for various reasons are probably better read after it. still no fitzroy in either of these but if you enjoy The Hands of The Emperor you. you’ll probably wanna read them. THEN!! the main event The Return of Fitzroy Angursell. as you may be able to tell by the title it has Fitzroy in it (yayyyyy and yippee!!) and you Do very much need to read The Hands of The Emperor before it for context. then FINALLY the book i am reading rn and pelting fitzroy with rocks about is At The Feet Of The Sun. technically its described as the sequel to The Hands of The Emperor but you need to read The Return of Fitzroy Angursell before it too. This book is so extremely fitzroypilled even when he isnt there the narration is about him.
anyway sorry for that rather confusing description. i hope you decide to give it a try they are full of many wonderful things such as Government Reform and Treason and occasionally Magic and #myCliopher (who i love very much and also occasionally want to pelt with rocks for the crime of being a little too relatable)
