‘Find your way home. You are free.’ @santamonicastudio & @realcorybarlog changed my life, by changing another life - that of #Kratos. That of #GodOfWar. From a blind rampager, this god, this man, this father, freed himself from his sins, his past, his fear. Only by doing this was he able to go *beyond* what he’d always been, for so long, and find a deeper truth to life. Faye, his love, and the mother of his child, was both a past to let go of, yet also a path to follow. ‘It’s not about hiding them from the world.’ Barlog says, in #RaisingKratos, a feature length documentary that has became my favourite of its kind, just as the game itself is my all-time favourite (I mean *how* many more #dreamcometrue aspects could you have *directly* channeled from my most profound hopes and dreams into a single game, turtle-houses and all 🐢🏡 ???). ‘You have to prepare them. Prepare them for the pain.’ And that‘s what this team did. Leaving so much behind is painful. It can feel overwhelming, impossible. But each breath lives and dies. It is new, then old, in the span of a moment. The new *must* come. The old *must* depart. By embracing this, one finds clarity. One finds the true path. Seeing this documentary has deepened my appreciation for this team far, *far* more than before...since running home early from work in 2016 to see that very first trailer, live as it happened. I sit with a God Of War poster, signed by Cory Barlog, behind me that he...gosh...took the time out of *THIS* to do. This epic tale of conflict, pain, confusion, loss, and ultimately *growth* and *triumph*. How‘s it even possible, I ask myself, for my love of this team, this game, to deepen even more? Yet here we are. There’s something uncanny, unerring, about how #GodOfWar, in every aspect (the game, music, behind the scenes, all of it), comes from that same honest place, of a team doing their absolute best, and beyond. It just bursts the heart & soul open with gratitude. By their hand, Faye, Atreus & Kratos are finally home. And when we center, when we come home to ourselves, there’s no hardship we cannot overcome. No challenge we cannot face. Kratos is now where he was always meant to be. #GodOfWarSaga https://www.instagram.com/p/BxTS5Zzpxyy/?igshid=v1dyozf5emek
