Sigyn sat tall, though she was a prisoner in this woman’s presence, in all practicality. The ruins of her home were scattered at her feet, but she couldn’t find it in her heart to mourn fallen gold. She mourned for the women who had lost children and husbands, she feared for her husband, where ever he was, and for her last son, hidden away as he was, yet old practice let none of that show upon her face.

Hela’d torn at a wound that could never quite heal, a fear that never fully quieted within her mind, yet it was an echo of words she’d heard many times, from many mouths.
