Right before this scene in the GIF, Sullivan says "And if you serve alongside someone long enough, you do anything for them - even if you might regret it."
Is he just referring to the fact that he thinks he's making a fool of himself by singing? Or is there more to it which I don't see? Sullivan looks weirdly serious here when toasting...
