Eeveelution Speculation for Gen 8...
It is known that even numbered generations always introduced Eeveelutions, so we can expect one (or a pair) this gen.
So far we have:
Vaporeon = strong against Flareon, weak against Leafeon and Jolteon
Flareon = strong against Leafeon and Glaceon, weak against Vaporeon
Jolteon = strong against Vaporeon, weak to none
Espeon = strong against none, weak to Umbreon
Umbreon = strong against Espeon, weak against Sylveon
Leafeon = strong against Vaporeon, weak against Flareon and Glaceon
Glaceon = strong against Leafeon, weak against Flareon
Sylveon = strong against Umbreon, weak to none
This means that Espeon has no strength and Jolteon and Sylveon have no weakness within the Eeveelution line. The next Eeveelution to be introduced will either be weak to Espeon or strong against Jolteon or Sylveon.
Which means the most likely types are...
Ground (Jolteon’s weakness and Flareon’s weakness, a new strength for Vaporeon, Leafeon, and Glaceon)
Steel (Sylveon’s weakness and Glaceon’s weakness, a new strength for Flareon)
Poison (covers bases for both Sylveon’s weakness and Espeon’s strength, but introduces a new weakness for Leafeon)
If the Eeveelutions are introduced in pairs also - Ground is strong against Steel and Poison and Steel is immune to Poison - these three types interrelate. So we can expect a single eeveelution of one of these types, or a pair with 2/3 of these.
