11 February is the feast day of St. Gobnait.
St. Gobnait is a relatively little-known Irish saint who is associated with healing and beekeeping and is considered the protector of Baile Bhúirne. One tradition holds that she is one of three sister saints, the others most usually named as Latiaran of Cullen and Crobhdhearg of Cathair Crobh Dearg (i.e., The City, which rests at the base of the Paps). The feast days of these three sister saints seem to suggest a vestige of seasonal mythology.
For more information about St. Gobnait, visit the Diocese of Kerry website. Also, a great article about the saint along with a virtual tour of her monastic site can be found here.
