      her lips pressed together for a brief second before turning away from the bathroom mirror, lipstick still in hand. tongue ran along her teeth as her eyes scanned over his face. she was so god damned annoyed with him. with his constant interference - as though she were nothing more than a little girl would couldn’t help herself. 

      emerald hues narrowed as she lowered the tube within her hand and leaned back against the counter, gripping the edge of it until her knuckles turned white. “ i know, remus. but - you know what? i’m sick of you constantly treating me as though i’m a porcelain doll when we both know i’m the farthest thing from it. ” as she spoke the tone she used was one of absolute vexation. she loved him. and she loved the fact that he worried so much about her. it made her feel important and a little smug - but that was besides the point. she needed some room to be able to do her job without him persistently hovering. 

“And I hope you are following that person’s advice, Oberon.” Amara said, watching her cousin intently. He looks skinny than the last time that she had saw him, but, it does happen to run away from his evil parents. “I would rather have you alive than dead.” Amara said. “Your mother had made it her mission to kill anyone who has betrayed this family.” She has been alone with her deranged aunt long enough to know what she wants and who she wants to kill, including her own son. 

“The same thing I should be asking you.” Amara responded back, arching her eyebrows at him, with a small smile played on her lips. “But if you must know, I am doing my Prefect duties, something that I know that you aren’t one.” Amara stated before her smile small became a Malfoy worthy smirk. “So, I am wondering why you are out and about? Perhaps meeting a lady friend.” 

Hearing those words coming from her cousin’s lips, Amara’s icy blue eyes stared at him. She saw a hint of concern in Oberon’s eyes, it made her smile. “Your concern is touching, Cousin.” Amara whispered softly, turning around so she was facing him full on. “But you don’t need to worry about me. I am gifted in occulmency.” Amara said, finishing off by placing her hand on his cheek. “You need to be careful, however. I do not want to hear anything bad about you. Understood?”

      THEY’D BEEN sitting in a far off corner of the library, her sitting criss-cross on the floor, poured over a book. they’d been chatting idly as they looked up dream interpretations for divination when he’d spoken, causing her head to snap up and her gaze to focus on him. she’d clearly been very taken aback, from the look on her face. it had been a string of words she had never expected to hear from remus lupin, of all people. sirius? yes. james? yes. but remus?
