This countdown is my personal initiative, I’ll be posting a doodle every day, culminating in something epic \o/

You’ll smell it before you see it!

Every adventurer has the big monsters they have to face, but there are also smaller, more common monsters that are important to confront along the way. An example would be the Goomba, the first monster many heroes face in the Mushroom Kingdom. In the World of Twelve, this role is proudly taken up by the Gobball: woolly little beasts that are horny in more ways than one!

The Gobball is an herbivorous flock animal known for an ability to, much like the Goomba, adapt to different situations as the need arises. Some Gobballs grow larger and stronger into War Chiefs, with sharp horns to protect their brethren, while female Gobballs (known as Gobbettes) have actually learned a natural healing magic, as well as going into a berserker rage when baby Gobballs known as Gobblies are in danger!

Here is pictured a Gobball War Chief. It’s stronger, more intelligent, more aggressive, and by the Twelve does it stink even worse than a regular Gobball!

What is perhaps unique about Gobballs is how, depending on the flock or even on the individual, they can have a wide range of very different, but very complex personalities. These personalities play off of each other in a uniquely complex herd dynamic, although all Gobballs share a few things in common: they love to eat, sleep, mate, and bulldoze anything in their way!

As for what they like to eat, Gobballs can eat almost any kind of small plant, and are actually tremendous pests to heroes in the World of Twelve who attempt to cultivate herbs in the wild where Gobballs like to graze. Gobballs are also fond of sleeping in the sun to rest before going on a stampede, and they’re also fans of males mounting females out in the open where everyone has to look at it!
